Following the Appeal Court judgment on Tuesday in Abuja that upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the National Working Committee (NWC) has announced the appointment of the firmer Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi as the Acting National Chairman of the party, (APC).

A statement on Tuesday night by the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu said the party was properly guided by the legal department before taking the action.

The statement noted that the action of the party was in line with the provisions of Section 14.2. (iii) of the party’s constitution, adding that by the action, “the Deputy National Chairman (South), Sen. Abiola Ajimobi will serve as the Party’s Acting National Chairman”.

The APC spokesman said according to the Section, the Deputy National Chairman, North/South “shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National Chairman from his zone”.

In the meantime, Abiola Ajimobi, who has now been the Acting National Chairman of APC has not been seen in public places in recent times.
