SEA PIRATES KIDNAP 5 PERSONS ALONG BONNY RIVER IN RIVERS STATE
Sea Pirates have kidnapped five persons in the early hours of today, Tuesday, August 10, 2021 along the Bonny-Port Harcourt River close to the Federal Ocean Terminal, Onne in Rivers State.
This comes weeks after nine persons, including five maritime workers were kidnapped the Kula~Abonnema waters ways, though, they have since been released.
Confirming the incident, Officer In Charge of the Marine Police in Bonny, SP SOLOMON ADENIYI, disclosed that ten passengers boarded the speed boat but five of them were kidnapped after Onne at about 7:30 Tuesday morning.

further informed that the victims were two females and three males, adding that the incident has been reported to the Marine Police in Port Harcourt by the boat drivers.
In the meantime, a knowledgeable source in Bonny, told BraveViews that the speedboat that conveyed the victims was “a one outboard engine powered speedboat that carries only 10 passengers.
Our source said the boat was on its way from Bonny to Port Harcourt this Tuesday morning, when the incident occurred, disclosing that while five of the passengers were kidnapped, five others were allowed to go.
At the time of filing this report, the identities of the abductees were not known, neither their whereabout known.
BraveViews recalls that the last time kidnapping incident occurred on that route was in January 2021, when twelve persons were kidnapped at Isaka.
Efforts to contact the chairman of Bonny Local Government Council for reaction is still ongoing.
