RIVERS UNIVERSITY EXPELS STUDENT OVER INVOLVEMENT IN CULTISM AND KILLING FELLOW STUDENT
Authorities of the Rivers State University (RSU) has expelled one of its students in the Department of Banking and Finance of the Faculty of Management Sciences, SUANU WISDOM NWIYARA for shooting and killing a final year student of the Department of Architecture of the same institution within the University campus last week Thursday, August 19, 2021.
NWIYARA WISDOM, a 300 level student of the institution was arrested by security operatives while attempting to escape after killing his victim UZORNDU CHIMENA.
A statement released by the Registrar of the University, Dr. SYDNEY EYIDAH said NWIYARA WISDOM, who is believed to be a cultist was expelled because the institution does not tolerate cultism and all forms of violence within its premises.
The statement indicated that the Vice Chancellor of RSU, Prof NLERUM OKOGBULE acted in exercise of the University laws in expelling NWIYARA WISDOM for cross misconduct.
The statement warned the expelled student, SUANU NWIYARA WISDOM to stay away from any part of the University premises, including lecture halls, library and hostels.
Earlier, reports had linked NWIYARA WISDOM as being related to the member representing Khana Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. PRINCE NGBOR but the lawmaker has issued a statement saying that they are not blood relatives.
The earlier report had said that they were related by marriage, adding that the lawmaker is the one training NWIYARA in the University.
Recall that the Police had told newsmen that the deceased, UZORNDU CHIMENA had a gun hidden in his panties before he was shot.
