EFCC CHAIRMAN ABDULRASHEED BAWA REGAINS STRENGTH AFTER HE SLUMPED AT ASO ROCK

….as EFCC says Bawa has received medical attention and “is due back at his desk”.

 

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), ABDULRASHEED BAWA slumped at the Presidential Villa, Abuja this morning (Thursday, September 18)

Brave Views gathered that BAWA slumped while speaking on the importance of digital identification in commemoration of the National Identity Day.

Reports said that the EFCC boss became emotional as he was talking about the death of an employee of the Commission, whose name he didn’t mention, during his speech.

He was said to have continued his speech but later stopped and walked off the stage to take his seat but fell shortly after taking his seat.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, ISA PANTAMI and others immediately rushed BAWA out of the hall.

Mr PANTAMI thereafter returned to the hall and informed the attendees that the EFCC Chairman was in a stable condition, just as the event continued.

In the meantime, EFCC spokesperson, WILSON UWUJAREN has confirmed the development at the Presidential Villa.

OWUJAREN said that Mr BAWA “felt unwell and had to return to his seat”.

In a statement, the EFCC spokesperson, WILSON UWUJAREN said that Mr Bawa was hale and hearty after receiving medical attention adding that he was due back at his desk.

The statement read in parts: “The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa is hale and hearty. This clarification became necessary following an incident today September 16, 2021 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day Celebration, felt unwell and had to return to his seat.

“He has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk”.
