REASON RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY INVITED CHINESE COMPANY, CCECC CONSTRUCTING BORI-KONO ROAD PROJECT FOR INTERROGATION

The Rivers State House of Assembly, Committee on Works has invited the Chinese contractor, handling the dualization of the Bori-Kono road known as Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) for Interrogation.

The development may be consequent upon the alarm raised by the Ogoni Youth Federation (OYF) few days back.

Brave Views recalls that the Ogoni umbrella youth body, OYF had criticized CCECC over the alleged shabby and sub-standard manner the firm is executing the job.

In the meantime, the Ogoni Youth Federation (OYF) has enjoined Ogoni people to remain calm, as it is committed to this advocacy.

In a statement made available to BraveViews in Port Harcourt, President of Ogoni Youth Federation, Engr LEGBORSI YAMAABANA said he would ensure that standards are maintained by the company.

“We shall ensure that the Company constructs the road in line with the Bill of Quantity and Bill of Engineering Measurements and Evaluation (BEME) they signed with the Rivers State Government. OGONI CAN NOT HAVE HALF-BAKED ROAD”.

The statement reminded some Ogoni leaders threatening Engr YAMAABANA for exposing the company, that the struggle is not a personal one.

“To some Ogoni leaders, who are threatening the President-General of Ogoni Youth Federation, Comrade Legborsi Yamaabana with arrest and persecution for daring to question the below-average Bori-Kono road, we wish to inform them that this is not a party affair but a Pan-Ogoni affair and no amount of threat shall deter the Ogoni Youth boss from advocating for the collective development and wellbeing of the Ogoni Nation.

“God is on our side; history is on our side”.
