POLICE IN ABUJA ORDERS RIVERS COMMAND TO FISH OUT OFFICERS, WHO ASSAULTED MAN IN PORT HARCOURT
The Nigeria Police have commenced an investigation into a viral video that showed yet-to-be-identified policemen assaulting a man in Emohua junction in Emohua Local Government Area of the East West road axis in Rivers.
The video footage, which is being circulated on social media platforms, has since gone viral.
The video shows a Police operative flogging a man with a stick while an
other officer concentrated on a lady, who was with the man.
BraveViews could not ascertain the the offence committed by the victim at the time of filling this report.
In the now-viral video, the Police officer was recorded while assaulting the man with a stick even as the man struggled to avoid being assaulted.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi in his reaction, condemned the action of the officers.
Muyiwa noted that efforts are ongoing to fish out the officers involved in the dastardly act.
The Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi described the incident as….
“Quite unfortunate. I have asked the Rivers State Command to fish them out.
“This is unpolice, unethical and condemned.
“Whatever the man must have done, he doesn’t deserve this beating. Beating him like a baby; a grown-up man?
“We will surely get the men”.
