RIVERS STATE POLICE COMMAND DENIES ORDER RESTRICTING MOVEMENT OF COMMERCIAL TRANSPORTATION IN OBIO/AKPOR LGA
The Rivers State Police Command has come out to deny social media publications that its officers at the Oginigba area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council issued an order restricting movement of all means of transportation from 7 o’clock in the evening and 6 o’clock in the morning daily, beginning from Friday, October 20th.
The State Police Command in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP GRACE IRINGE-KOKO said its men in Oginigba never issued such a restriction order.
GRACE IRINGE-KOKO clarified that the Trans-Amadi Police Division only improvised certain strategies to effectively combat crime and clampdown on some criminal hideouts by way of raiding the area to improve security within its jurisdiction.
The statement frowned at the social media publication, describing it as a false information, capable of inciting the public.
The Police urged lawful members of the public to go about their daily activities without fear.
The Rivers Police spokesperson warned that any individual (s) caught in criminal activities would face the consequences according to the law.
The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP NWONYI POLYCARP EMEKA, in the meantime re-assured the people of the State of the safety and security of the State and it’s environment.
